09 juli 2006:

Our second Dutch Sheperd Day. This has been a great succes for us. Soon I will add some reactions to the site. The first guests arrived on saturday 8th of july. They stayed at “camping Hoogkerk”, our field had been renamed for this occasion. The dinner such as nasi, mihoen, babi pangang, foeyoung hai and sate were ready. After a long trip ranging from 4 till 15 hours, stretching ones legs and eating some food was a pleasure. Hands were shaken and welcome kisses were exchanged. To our kennel it is fantastic to bring great sport-loving people together in such a short period of time, with only one aim for eyes to go for it nicely with your dog in a natural environment. Sunday 9th of July sunday 9 th of July it was time, people and dogs kept streaming in.Sportsmen and ex-dog sportsmen came who were interested in demonstrations such as Mondior, Ring and KNPV since thye have heard it througt the grapevine. We would also want to express our thanks to the Belgium/German team from Kennel "van het Itterdal" and Oranjemoed for their explanation concerning the above components. Also the policedog-demonstration from our 1.5 years old own bred male: Holland Eran v. Le Dobry was contemplated with admiration by many people. Amazing what this young male isalready capable of. Also there were people from Switzwerland, France and of course from Drenthe, Friesland, Zeeland, Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland and other provinces. After saying our welcome to approximately 60 people a group of people went to the trackingfields for tracking and all the other people could add their name to the list for phase B and phase C. There were a total of 32 Dutch Sheperd who joined the program. The morning was used for phase B and in the afternoon phase C.

The demonstrations were rewarded with a warm applause for the helper and the dog and all the other handlers with dogs were followed attentively how they trained and what they did to achive. Around 4 in the afternoon all dogs were finished and everyone could enjoy a delicious barbeque with salad and bread. Some of the people said goodbye because they hit the road to travel back home. In the mean time the finals of a soccer game was followed by some people who stayed and people had fun discussing the fact how a Dutch Sheperd in a foreign country isn't recognised as a clasified workingdog while this is a great loss for our breed. Still we must continue to fight for the official recognition as a work dog and try to come to a solution with the officials. so both parts are satisfied and that the NHC with the Raad van Beheer finaly gets an official status as a working dog on the list from the FCI. It is a great loss that one is banned out from IPO contests in for instance Belgium with a fine breed that has also good capacities while they look at the Dutch Sheperd as a non-breed. Even till very late in the evening all of us had a great time. Monday the last people were sent off after a fine weekend in Hoogkerk
