27th of May 2007:

Just like last year we had decided to travel to our neighbors in the south to train together. This year our group was a bit smaller than the previous year due to several circumstances, 15 years of marriage, upcoming litter and so on. Nevertheless, Tonny with Excel,( and Excel has become a father of 10 Dutch bangles and 11 German vlegels, so he is doing very well), and our own family Jack, Klaas and myself with the dogs Tessa, Shadow and Funky undertook the trip. We left at 9.00 from Hoogkerk with a stop in Apeldoorn where the NBG Club Trophy was held. A nice event with a lot of participants. Ofcourse we had a chat with everybody about the previous events and the development of the NBG Club. We left for Belgium at 16.00. At 18.30 LaurensJan stood waiting for us with a bite to eat. Tasted delicious. Tonny contemplated on the lodgings for Scully and must have thought, “she has the space and the possibilities, exactly a small castle in which she stays”. The family Herlaar has offered to give us a place to stay for this weekend and they did not have to offer this twice. All- inclusive including a bedroom and a bathroom for all of us. On Saturday a delicious breakfast was made for us by René, eggs with bacon. Something solid to begin our trip to Bree at 9.00. It was approximately a 1.15 drive. When we got there we got a warm welcome by the Belgians, Germans and other acquaintances. In the course of the day our dogs had shown a considerable bit of labor and also we got to see trainings of Mondior and Belgian ring. A complete other perception of sport. Also the coach of LaurensJan was present, therefore at last we got a chance to meet with Jo convert. He spoke full of praise concerning LJ and his dog. In the afternoon Georges and Mich arrived with Enzo. Enzo looked very much to Lisa and this does make you remember. The day itself was spontaneous and relaxed. Jack (13 years) with the old one in the trade Tessa (8, 5 years) and LJ (17 years) as the handler were stealing the show on this day. Youth has the future and if this continues this way we certainly have a beautiful time ahead of us. After the training the BBQ and a good filled table with salad and side dishes. We enjoyed this very much and around 20.30 tired but satisfied we drove back to Heks. When we got there we sat down and did some catching up and after that we went to our nice tower-room and went to sleep. The next morning it was time to clean up and return homeward but first we ate some delicious Belgian croissants and chocolate bread and as a dessert we had a piece of apple pie and after that we went on our trip home of 4 hours. Thanks to the Family Herlaar on behalf of all of us for the delicious weekend, and perhaps till we meet again next year.
